G-quadruplexes (G4s) are peculiar DNA or RNA tertiary structures that are involved in the regulation of many biological events within mammalian cells, bacteria, and viruses. Although their role as versatile therapeutic targets has been emphasized for 35 years, G4 selectivity over ubiquitous double-stranded DNA/RNA, as well as G4 differentiation by small molecules, still remains challenging. Here, a new amphiphilic dicyanovinyl-substituted squaraine, SQgl , is reported to act as an NIR fluorescent light-up probe discriminating an extensive panel of parallel G4s while it is non-fluorescent in the aggregated state. The squaraine can form an unconventional sandwich π-complex binding two quadruplexes, which leads to a strongly fluorescent (ΦF=0.61) supramolecular architecture. SQgl is highly selective against non-quadruplex and non-parallel G4 sequences without altering their topology, as desired for applications in selective in vivo high-resolution imaging and theranostics. 相似文献

High-resolution core-level data from the prototypical In/Si(1 1 1) system have been acquired at 10 K. An asymmetric tail in the In 4d spectra reveals a metallic character of the low temperature Si(1 1 1)8 × 2 phase confined to the inner indium rows. The decoupling of the one-dimensional inner indium chains from any metallic environment at ∼10 K suggests a possible Luttinger liquid behavior. Two new cyclopeptides, perthamides E and F were isolated from the polar extracts of the sponge Theonella swinhoei. The new structures, featuring an unprecedented β-amino acid unit (AHMOA), were determined by interpretation of NMR and MS data. The absolute configuration of the AHMOA residue was proposed on the basis of quantum chemical calculation of NMR chemical shifts. Composites formed by poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) and alumina (PEDOT/Al2O3) have been prepared by in situ anodic polymerization. For this purpose, the stability of 1:1 and 4:1 monomer:alumina aqueous solutions has been examined as a function of the pH (2.3, 4.0, 7.0, 8.8, or 10.8). Results indicate that the monomer behaves as a dispersant that remains stable at the studied basic pHs despite they are close to the isoelectric point of alumina. Although the thermal stability of the composites is considerably affected by the pH of the reaction medium, its influence on the surface morphology is very small. Independently, of the synthetic conditions, the electrochemical properties were better for PEDOT/Al2O3 than for pure PEDOT, reflecting that alumina particles promote the charge mobility. The highest specific capacitance (SC; 141 F/g), which was 55% higher than that obtained for pure PEDOT, was achieved for the composite prepared at pH = 8.8 using a 4:1 monomer:alumina ratio. These conditions favor the participation of OH– groups as secondary doping agents without degrading the polymer matrix and enhance the specific surface of the films, facilitating the ionic mobility. On the other hand, application of a multi‐step polymerization strategy has shown that interfaces originated by consecutive steps enhance the SC. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Quality control of fuel-related properties of biodiesel, such as thermal stability, is needed to obtain consistent engine
performance by fuel users, since biodiesel is susceptible to auto-oxidation when exposed to air, light, and temperature during
storage. In this work two pure standard reference materials of biodiesels produced from soy oil and animal feedstocks were
studied. Differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry measurements were performed and the analysis of the results
revealed small temperature variations in the thermal events among the two standards, these differences are due mainly to their

Nitrogen laser performance with TE configuration and wedge electrodes is analyzed with background ionization in the laser
discharge channel by α particles at a low exposition rate. With the bias ionization, the laser power presents two peaks as a function of gas pressure,
with one at the normal low pressure, without bias ionization, and the other at high pressure generated by bias ionization.
A simple theoretical model has been developed in a trial to understand this behavior. This model was first tested in later
results for a TE configuration nitrogen laser, with flat electrodes, without and with bias ionization. It has been observed
that due to the competition between electrode shielding by positively charged α particles and bulk ionization by impact, the laser energy is suppressed with pressure below 50 Torr and enhanced above it. 相似文献
